Rwandan Diaspora Convention Europe 2011

A 3-day event (22- 24 July’11) hosted by the Rwandese Community Association in the UK.

It aims to bring together Rwandans and friends of Rwanda from across the United Kingdom (UK) and

Europe to discuss their shared interests, build lasting networks, share business ideas and opportunities in

Rwanda and the East African region, as well as provide opportunities to build community links and

networks to facilitate working together. The event will be marked by business roundtables, investment conferences

and workshops, cultural evenings, youth events and much more.

We (The youth department) are in the process of putting on a Christmas event for the youth.  If you are a parent, or know anyone who has teenagers or youths, please pass this message on to them.

We have decided to host a Christmas show for you all that is coming up in a matter of weeks. Yey!!! I can assure you that you do not want to miss this event, as it will be our 1st Christmas do we’ve decided to make it that little more special for you all by hiring a BOAT. No joke! Unfortunately ‘there is a limited seating plan’ so we have to secure spaces on a first come first serve basis…if you would like to come and Enjoy an evening of great music, amazing people/culture, delicious food and of course the beautiful scenery as the boat will be moving through London as the evening falls… Please click the link below and secure your place for this event.

Young Ambassadors needed

The Young People and Embassy Project showcase the achievements and contributions of athletes, past and present, of African, Caribbean and Black British heritage to the modern Olympics/Paralympics. The project will form part of the Cultural Olympiad projects being planned for London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to develop a series of inspiring and uniquely exceptional programme for African, Caribbean and Black British young people. The project will work in partnership with African and Caribbean embassies in London.

The project is recruiting 20 young people aged 10-15 and 5, 16-19 year olds. They will have the opportunity to connect with their embassies, understand the work they do and be part as they host their national athletes for 2012. They will participate in the Olympic site tour, make a video and produce a book of their heroes/heroines, produce exhibitions at the Olympics, shadow a high commissioner, and much more…….

Launch of the event: Saturday 24 July 2010   Time: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
